There's nothing that I sell that you need.

"He who dies with the most toys still dies." Speaking of death, the death rate is one apiece. We're all going to make it - everyone of us is going to die. We all have our views or beliefs about what happens when a person dies, but how valid are those beliefs? Can they be proven? Is there any supporting documentation to substantiate our views? A faith is only as good as the object in which it is placed.

The Bible (which is a book that is Divine rather than human in origin) speaks of a coming Judgment Day. That is a day when you will have to account for everything you've ever done. At this point in time, you may be saying "I'm OK...I've lived a pretty good life..." But by whose standards are you judging your "pretty good" life? We can all put ourselves up against the likes of Adolph Hitler and look "pretty good". But the problem with that, is when God judges us, He has a standard all His own and it's not comparing us to people like Hitler. God has a set of rules (His standard) called the Ten Commandments which He will judge us by. To see how well you would stand up on Judgment Day, let's go through them...

1. Is God first in your life? Does your love for your family ands friend almost seem like hatred when compared to how much you love the One who gave you those friends and family?

2. Have you ever made a god to suit yourself? In other words, is the god you have in your mind as being God, the same one as described in the Bible or do you have a god who winks at sin or wouldn't send people to Hell?

3. Have you ever used God's name in vain? Have you ever substituted God's holy name for four-letter word used to express disgust? Think about that for a moment, Hitler is pretty much reviled by everyone and his name isn't even used as a curse word.

4. Have you kept the Sabbath holy?

5. Have you always honored your parents? Think back to when you were young.

6. Have you ever hated anyone? Then the Bible says you are a murderer (1 John 3:15).

7. Have you ever lusted after someone, had sex before marriage, or cheated on your husband or wife?

8. Have you ever stolen anything (its value is insignificant)?

9. Have you told a lie?

10. Have you ever desired to have something that belonged to someone else?

(You can read these for yourself in Exodus 20:1-17.)

If you're honest (you might as well be because you won't be able to fool God), you (like me) have or are breaking most (if not all) of them. Let me be blunt: God will not let a lying, idol-worshipping, murdering, adulterous thief into His Heaven. Remember why you read this far? You are going to one day die. You will have to account for all the wrong things that you have done. If you don't make it into Heaven, then a place of extreme torment is where you will spend forever.

So, we have a grim situation now. Perhaps you are sorry for what you have done and may have even confessed these things to God. Is that the fix? Let's consider a courtroom. Let's say you are standing guilty before a judge facing a $100,000,000 fine and you say "Your Honor, I'm really, REALLY sorry for what I've done." The judge would probably say "You should be! Now, are you able to pay the fine or not?" Since a judge must have grounds on which to release you, whether you are sorry or not, there's still a price to be paid. If you could pay the $100,000,000 fine, you would have met the requirements of the law and you would be free to go. Let's suppose you CAN'T pay the fine - then what?

Suppose a person walked into the courtroom and could tell by the look on your face that there was no way you could ever pay the fine. This person then tells the judge that he will pay your fine for you. What would your reaction be to one such a person?

There is one person who would and did do something of that nature. Jesus Christ. Through His sinless life, death and resurrection, we now have an advocate who will take the blame for all our sins. Jesus' last words on the cross were "It is finished." In the original Greek the word is "tetelestai" which can be rendered as "paid in full". Jesus is the only person who pays for our sins so God can declare us "not guilty". If you were to accept this gift of salvation, then you wouldn't stand before a holy and just God on Judgment Day clothed in your own sin, but rather God would view you in light of Christ's righteousness. If you put your faith in Christ Jesus (and not on what you have done because you can't earn or work your way into Heaven (Ephesians 2:8,9)), then you will inherit eternal life in a place beyond your wildest dreams.

Without Jesus, you have no hope whatsoever. Don't be caught dead without Him.

If you have read this far with an open mind and would like to accept Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life, then repent and trust in the Savior and obey His Word. God will forgive you of your sin and grant you everlasting life. It's that simple. Confess your sins to God, put your faith in Jesus, read the Bible daily and obey what you read. You'll not only have joy in this life, but in the life to come.

Depending upon your background, you may not agree with what I have put forth here. I take no offense to that, because these words are not my own. I've spent the last ten year investigating cults, the paranormal, and various world religions. Only the historic Christian faith is without flaw in terms of theology. The Bible has remarkably foretold the future in minute detail time and time again. The Bible is without contradiction and has not been proven wrong on any of the matters it speaks of. The Bible is the Creator of the universe's true inspired word to us.

A word about truth.
Truth is absolute. Here's why: If truth is relative, that only begs the question "Is truth relative for everybody?" If the answer is "Yes. Truth is relative for everybody." Well, that is an ABSOLUTE statement. So for that statement to be true, the IDEA it tries is make must be false. Therefore, truth is absolute - the same for everybody, everywhere at any time.

There is no new truth. (Were cigarettes bad for the cowboys who smoked them way back when or only when we "discovered" that they are harmful?)

The truth doesn't change. (When you put a pencil in a glass of water it looks bent, but it isn't.)

The Law of Non-Contradiction states that "A cannot be non-A." So, with that in mind, anything other than the truth (no matter how close) is a lie. For example of this "closeness", D-CON rat poison is 99% edible, but still fatal.

Now, let's look at it from the standpoint that truth is NOT absolute...

1) We can throw out math. When 2+2 can equal anything (depending upon perspective), you can imagine all the problems with money, education, people's ages, expiration dates on foods, computers, and communication (to name a few).

2) The world would be full of contradictions. A glass of water that is on the right side of my keyboard would be my monitor's left, and someone who is on my right (between myself and the monitor) would say that (to him) the glass is sitting on the desk ABOVE (not the right or left) my keyboard, and on and on. For truth to be relative, the glass of water has to be on all sides of my keyboard AT THE SAME TIME. That is ridiculous. Such a contradictory world cannot exist.

3) There would be no wrong. As long as something is right (true) for me, then it doesn't make any difference what you think, because truth becomes arbitrary. Furthermore, you couldn't even cite me for doing wrong.

4) There would be no justice. No one can be convicted of a crime and pay the penalty if the law is relative.

5) There can be no learning. Learning is either moving from a false concept to a true concept or moving from no knowledge of something to some knowledge of something. Why bother going to school?

In closing, I thank you for reading this and pray that you will take to heart what I have put forth here. Should you have any questions about anything here (or something that is not mentioned here such as cults or evolution), feel free to
e-mail me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks and God bless you.
